What is the Spring Trip?
Each Spring the LHHS Band will travel for a performance. For three years of a student’s four years in high school, the band travels to Corpus Christi to attend the South Coast Music Festival. Every fourth year, the band travels out of state to perform. Past locations have included Hawaii and Disney World. Unfortunately the 2020 Spring Trip to San Francisco, CA, did not happen. The plans for the 2021 Spring Trip have yet to be announced. Stay tuned!
In order to attend as band member must:
- Be a member of Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, or Winterguard.
- Be an eligible member in good standing for Fall and Spring semesters (meaning: all band fees paid in full).
- Have all trip fees paid in full.
2020 San Francisco Trip UPDATE
Unfortunately, RISD has suspended student/staff travel indefinitely which means that we have now officially cancelled the San Francisco trip.
TMF will be reaching out to all families who were signed-up very soon to verify important contact information to help get you refunds.
My understanding from TMF is that almost the entire amount originally paid will be refunded via check! Any amount that cannot be refunded due to nonrefundable deposits lost to travel vendors, TMF will refund the lost amount as a store credit to TMF’s Apparel division. They are creating a custom Lake Highlands Band Apparel Store for us to use that credit so that we don’t lose it completely!
It is VERY important that you check the email address you used to register for the trip over the next 2 weeks for communication from TMF. This is the first step needed to ensure you get your refund in a timely manner. Refunds will be issued via check to the updated address you provide TMF.
