Big picture

Check out our NEW Marching Band Tower!

Due to the creation of the HUB, our Practice Field had to move closer to Church Rd. This made it impossible to keep our old tower at its original location, so RISD was able to replace it!

We were fortunate enough to custom-design this just for the Wildcat Band!

Not only is it much taller, there are also 3 viewing levels, a roof, director stands and a beautiful new LH logo! This is one of the nicest Marching Band towers in all of DFW and we can’t wait to start using it! The location of the old tower was also paved over and will be used for secure outdoor Marching Band storage!

Discrimination, Inequality and Racism in the Wildcat Band

Over the past year, we as a Band staff have been made aware of issues within the program that could have been handled differently and/or that we as directors were unaware of and we want to be on the forefront of change not only in our program but on the campus. We are proud to offer a comprehensive Band program that is representative of all students at LHHS and want to make sure that we are staying true to that mission.

We have teamed with RISD’s Directors of Prevention Programming and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to provide training for our Band Directors and a select group of Student Leaders in hopes that we can have meaningful conversations and impactful change in the program.

The following Google form can be used for any student to share their experience in the Band program. You can choose to share this anonymously, with a Student Leader, Band Director or another individual on our campus.

The form can be found here: https://forms.gle/2WWCyPe6X8keZ1pT7

Please participate if you feel that you have information that can help the program improve!

All-Area Audition Updates

All students who are auditioning for the TMEA All-Region process will receive login information to access Music First, a web-based recording program.

The window for students to record the Region cuts is 12:01am on Saturday, 1/9 until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 1/13. You can record any combination of etudes in a sitting and revisit recordings after finishing them.

The biggest challenge in this process is if a student attempts to re-record an Etude, the previous recording will automatically be deleted! You may not record multiple takes of the same Etude and go through them to find the best one. Your LAST take will always be the recording stored. You can attempt recording as few or as many times as you want, but all recordings must be in BEFORE 11:59pm on Wednesday.

iOS App Instructions

If using an iOS device, the MusicFirst Student app must be used because of limits on browser access to the microphone.

2020 San Francisco Trip UPDATE 2

If you were signed up for the 2020 San Francisco Band trip, you should have received an email form TMF regarding refunds and merchandise credit.

If you do not believe you have received communication from TMF, please check the email address you used to register for the trip over the next 2 weeks for communication from TMF. This is the first step needed to ensure you get your refund in a timely manner. Refunds will be issued via check to the updated address you provide TMF.
