All-Area Audition Updates

All students who are auditioning for the TMEA All-Region process will receive login information to access Music First, a web-based recording program.

The window for students to record the Region cuts is 12:01am on Saturday, 1/9 until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 1/13. You can record any combination of etudes in a sitting and revisit recordings after finishing them.

The biggest challenge in this process is if a student attempts to re-record an Etude, the previous recording will automatically be deleted! You may not record multiple takes of the same Etude and go through them to find the best one. Your LAST take will always be the recording stored. You can attempt recording as few or as many times as you want, but all recordings must be in BEFORE 11:59pm on Wednesday.

iOS App Instructions

If using an iOS device, the MusicFirst Student app must be used because of limits on browser access to the microphone.

2020 San Francisco Trip UPDATE 2

If you were signed up for the 2020 San Francisco Band trip, you should have received an email form TMF regarding refunds and merchandise credit.

If you do not believe you have received communication from TMF, please check the email address you used to register for the trip over the next 2 weeks for communication from TMF. This is the first step needed to ensure you get your refund in a timely manner. Refunds will be issued via check to the updated address you provide TMF.

Winter Marching Band Performance!

The LHHS Wildcat Band will be hosting a Winter Marching Band Performance on Thursday, 12/3 at 6:30pm!

The Marching Band will be performing our 2020 show along with many other songs from our Fall season.

We are excited to provide this in-person performance opportunity for our fans! Our Band students have worked hard through all of the challenges involved with the Fall semester and we are so proud of their progress!

Similar to Football Games, all safety protocols remain in place:

路 Masks are required

路 All fans must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering

路 Every other row will remain empty. Please do not sit on rows that are marked with Caution tape

路 Per UIL rules, we must maintain no more than 50% Stadium Capacity

路 You may ONLY sit with members of your household

Wristbands will be required and must be checked upon entry. Each Marching Band student will be given 4 wristbands on Tuesday morning to distribute to friends and family as needed.

Please note: this performance will only involve members of our Marching Band and this will take the place of our traditional Winter Concert event in December. We are also planning a virtual concert event for early in the Spring semester (late January/early February) that will involve ALL LHHS Band students regardless of their learning model.

We hope you will join us on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:30pm!

Chamber Music Festival entry fees DUE!

If you did not turn these in prior to the Winter Break, please turn them in BY Friday, January 10!Each entry costs $5 – this means if a student is playing both a solo and an ensemble, the TOTAL entry fee for them is $10.聽Fees can be paid by cash/check and turned into the safe with “CMF 2020 Entry Fee – Student Name” listed on the envelope.

Woodwind/Brass students: If you are playing a solo, there is also a $40 accompanist fee. This fee covers 2 rehearsals and a performance with a professional pianist that we hire for you. ALL solos must be performed with an accompanist. We organize this for you to not only make it convenient but also save money! $40 is a great deal for this service!聽Please turn the accompanist fee into the safe with “CMF 2020 Accompanist Fee – Student Name” listed on the envelope.聽Do not pay your accompanist directly!

Google Classroom Assignments are DUE this week. Please double-check your due dates online – be prepared!
