Band 101 is a crucial event for the future of the LHHS Band program as it is our last opportunity to outreach to
our 8th grade students before they submit class selections for their freshman year. Specifically, the event includes
a side-by-side rehearsal with our high school band and 8th graders while all of the 8th grade parents attend an
informational meeting and Q&A session.
Here is what you need to know/plan for:
4:20 PM– Any students interested in instructional leadership positions for the 2022 marching season should
plan to help us set up the rooms we will be using right after school.
5:20 PM– CURRENT instructional leaders meet with band staff to have jobs assigned.
5:30 PM– Instructional leaders begin greeting 8th graders and 8th grade parents and showing them to their
place for the event.
5:40 PM– All high school band students arrive. You need your concert instrument and a pencil.
6:00 PM– Event begins.
7:15 PM– Event concludes.
Note- Seniors- while you won’t directly be in band with these 8th graders next year, your presence is SO
important. You have invested so much time and energy into the program and this is one of the last chances to
ensure that it continues to grow and thrive in quality and quantity.
