Winter Marching Band Performance!

The LHHS Wildcat Band will be hosting a Winter Marching Band Performance on Thursday, 12/3 at 6:30pm!

The Marching Band will be performing our 2020 show along with many other songs from our Fall season.

We are excited to provide this in-person performance opportunity for our fans! Our Band students have worked hard through all of the challenges involved with the Fall semester and we are so proud of their progress!

Similar to Football Games, all safety protocols remain in place:

· Masks are required

· All fans must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering

· Every other row will remain empty. Please do not sit on rows that are marked with Caution tape

· Per UIL rules, we must maintain no more than 50% Stadium Capacity

· You may ONLY sit with members of your household

Wristbands will be required and must be checked upon entry. Each Marching Band student will be given 4 wristbands on Tuesday morning to distribute to friends and family as needed.

Please note: this performance will only involve members of our Marching Band and this will take the place of our traditional Winter Concert event in December. We are also planning a virtual concert event for early in the Spring semester (late January/early February) that will involve ALL LHHS Band students regardless of their learning model.

PLAYOFFS!

Richardson ISD IS allowing Marching Bands to travel to Playoff Football games! We need ALL Marching Band families to fill in a new Opt-In form HERE: https://forms.gle/stviHxY7u2WPm7RL6

THERE ARE STILL 50 MARCHING BAND MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT FILLED THIS OUT!

There are two options for transportation:

Students will either ride an RISD bus with the band OR can be driven by a parent.

NO STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO DRIVE THEMSELVES!

Marching rehearsals will occur on Thursday-Friday, December 10-11, 7:30AM to 8:15AM. Depending on what we perform at the game, a similar schedule will probably apply the following week if we advance.

Playoff Volunteers needed!

Attention Parents! Want to get in free to the Playoff football game and help support the band? If you do, then we would love for you to volunteer to be a Band Chaperone!

We do not know specifics for the game yet, but once we do they will be updated on the Sign-Up Genius.

All-Region Auditions

All students who are auditioning for the TMEA All-Region process will receive login information to access Music First, a web-based recording program.

The window for students to record the Region cuts is 10am on Saturday, 12/5 until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 12/9. You can record any combination of etudes in a sitting and revisit recordings after finishing them.

The biggest challenge in this process is if a student attempts to re-record an Etude, the previous recording will automatically be deleted! You may not record multiple takes of the same Etude and go through them to find the best one. Your LAST take will always be the recording stored. You can attempt recording as few or as many times as you want, but all recordings must be in BEFORE 11:59pm on Wednesday.

Each student should have now paid LHABC their $16 entry fee.
