Hi Band Families!

WOW – in just one week we will be starting our new 2018-2019 LHHS Wildcat Band year!  I cannot believe it is already here!  I have a few important business details for you before the 2017-2018 year ends & the torch passes to Sherwin & Amy Daryani.  What an exciting year 2018-2019 is going to be with the Daryanis and the new LHABC Board!

1.     Fuddruckers Spirit Night is Monday, June 4th from 6-9PM at the Greenville Avenue location in Old Town.  Please be sure to tell the cashier you are with Lake Highlands High School Band when you check out.  Spread the word to your friends as well!  LHABC will make a percentage of the sales that night.

2.    Summer Band is on Friday, June 1st and Monday, June 4th from 8AM to 11:30AM and then 1 – 4PM.  Remember that band time is 15 minutes earlier!  Lunch can be eaten on or off campus.  Be sure to remind your students to wear comfortable, cool clothing and supportive shoes.  It will be HOT outside, so they will need refillable water bottles, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc.  Cool-a-roo neck wraps are also good to help keep body temperature down.

3.    Great BIG thank you’s to the 2017-2018 LHABC Board, Directors, Volunteers, Students, etc. for making this year amazing!  We could not have done this without you!

Now for some mushy last words…

At the beginning of this school year, I had no idea what I had signed on for.  At the end of the school year, I can say it was the most rewarding wild ride!  LHABC, LHHS Wildcat Band students and families, and our directors are the most amazing people around!

Our band family is amazing (that means you!) and is super generous with their time, talents, and resources.  I have seen this first hand all year long. We have a common goal to help support our directors and students and to make it possible for them to do all the wonderful LHHS Wildcat Band stuff that they do all year long.  This goal is not just a numbers game, it is about each individual band student and how we can help make a difference in their life and their family.  Thank you all for working so hard this year to make such a BIG difference!

I came on board this year because I love what band has done for Porter.  He started in 6th grade and has never waivered in his desire to join the marching band in high school.  Little did I know what that would mean for our family.  Porter has grown as a musician and student.  He has made lifelong friends and learned tons of life skills.  He has become more confident and independent.  Band has changed him for the better!

I feel so blessed to have gotten to work with and know so many of you this year and look forward to another 2 years with you in a different capacity before Porter graduates.  Thank you all for an amazing Wildcat ride!

Go Band!
